Documents regarding the Paśupatināth Temple

The temple of Paśupati, "the lord of the animals," is located in the town of Deopatan, about three kilometers northeast of Kathmandu. The deity is an incarnation of Śiva and has been the patron deity of the kings of Nepal since the Liccavi period.
