Hans-Christian Riechers studied philosophy, German language and literature, and religious studies in Freiburg and Valencia. He was a research assistant at Bielefeld University, where he earned his doctorate with a dissertation on Peter Szondi. He then worked as a research assistant on the editorial project *Friedrich Gundolf’s History of Literature* atthe University of Freiburg. From 2021 to 2024, he held a DFG research fellowship at the University of Basel; in the summer of 2024, he was an External Junior Fellow at the Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies (FRIAS). since 2024, he has been a research associate in the SFB 1671 “Heimat(en).”

From 2021 to 2023, he HAdW in a research project on heterodox scienceat WIN-Kolleg HAdW . 

Teaching assignments abroad (DAAD, Erasmus+) took him to Saint Petersburg and Yerevan.
