Law and religion in the Baltic region from a historical perspective
Joint Conference of the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the Estonian Academy of Sciences and Humanities
Academy of Sciences and Humanities in cooperation between the Estonian Academy of Sciences and Humanities Tallinn) and the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities , this interdisciplinary conference aims to examine law and religion in the Baltic region from a historical perspective. The conference will highlight the historical development of religion in the Baltic region, from the (later forced) Christianization through the Reformation to the Age of Enlightenment, with a focus on legal aspects. The early modern period, with its upheavals resulting from the Reformation, will be a central focus of the conference.
