The “Mathematical Logic” project aimed to document, structure, and represent the current state of knowledge in the field of mathematical logic and related areas in its full breadth and depth, as well as to make this existing knowledge accessible in accordance with specific requirements. For this field of science, the goal was to counter the ever-growing volume of publications and the increasing dispersion of scientific results with a unifying organizational tool designed to preserve the entire body of knowledge in this field from its origins onward and to make its contents accessible.

To this end, the company maintained a comprehensive, structured bibliography covering the aforementioned fields and developed methodologies for the functional presentation of substantive knowledge, enabling targeted information retrieval and dissemination. In doing so, the six-volume bibliography of logic published in 1987 was updated and expanded into an information system for mathematical logic that centrally coordinated and organized the resources available worldwide.

The documented literature was classified according to the classification scheme for mathematical logic developed at the research project, which, in its essential features, became the logic section of the internationally accepted comprehensive Mathematical Subject Classification Scheme (MSC 2000).The literature was also structurally organized and was intended to be further indexed on the basis of a more in-depth conceptual understanding of the field.

This project thus represents an attempt to comprehensively document a scientific discipline and to facilitate access to its content. However, due to the foundational nature of mathematical logic, this approach extends far beyond the boundaries of the field.
