Hector Foundation Award
The award, sponsored by the Hector Foundation (external link), is intended for young researchers in the field of computer science. It is intended to encourage early-career researchers in their work and to recognize outstanding scientific achievements. The award is presented annually.
The award is endowed with 10,000 euros and was presented for the first time in 2023.
Who can be nominated?
Candidates nominated for the award must have earned their Ph.D. no more than 5 years ago. The work on which the nomination is based must have been published or submitted for publication within the past two years. The awards cannot be divided among multiple proposed works. However, if several candidates have contributed equally to a single work, the awards may be awarded to them in equal shares.
Who may submit nominations?
- All members of the Mathematical and Natural Sciences class
- All heads of university research institutions
- All heads of non-university research institutes in the state of Baden-Württemberg
- Self-nominations are not permitted
