Duration: 2004 to 2013

A bibliographic and documentary compendium has been compiled that covers the entire field of the literary reception history of antiquity and the Middle Ages for the period between 1500 and approximately 1630, including later reprints (up to the 19th century). In accordance with international standards, all forms of textual transmission from the period before 1500 were taken into account among early modern editors, translators, and commentators. The accompanying paratexts were printed, explained with regesta and subject commentaries, recorded in their subsequent printing history, and introduced with biographical portraits and the most complete possible list of the relevant research literature.

The project covered the region of Germany (Section I: The Electoral Palatinate and its surrounding areas – Section II: Baden, Further Austria, and Württemberg). It was part of a collaborative project involving European research institutions in cooperation with the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique in Paris.
