Academic semester 2026/27
The Heidelberg Academy of Sciences is a non-university research institution and a scholarly society. One of the academy's main pillars is its sponsorship of long-term research projects inthe Academies' Program(external link). These projects run for 12 to a maximum of 25 years. They are located in the field of basic research in the humanities, historical law, and the economic and social sciences.
To support the preparation of applications, the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences is announcing the"Academy Semester"for the winter semester 2026/2027. This is intended to enable applicants to take a sabbatical semester at their institutions to prepare applications and develop profiles for a proposed research project in the Academy Program. The call for applications is aimed at researchers with a doctorate and postdoctoral qualification who are employed on a permanent basis at a research institution in the state of Baden-Württemberg.
The deadline for submissions is January 31, 2026.
