At the General Assembly of the Learned Society of the Czech Republic, Willi Jäger (on the right in the photo) was honored with the Medal of Honor for his outstanding scientific achievements. Since he was unable to accept the award in person, Matthias Kind (on the left in the photo) accepted it on his behalf and presented it to Willi Jäger at the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, where the photo was taken.

The Medal of Honor is considered one of the country's highest honors.
