HectorPrize

Prize , sponsored by the Hector Foundation(external link), Prize for young researchers in the field of computer science. It aims to encourage emerging researchers in their work and to recognize outstanding scientific achievements. The Prize awarded annually.

The Prize worth 10,000 euros and was awarded for the first time in 2023.

Who can be nominated?

Candidates nominated for the award must have received their doctoral degree no more than five years prior to the award ceremony. The work on which the nomination is based must have been published or submitted for publication within the preceding two years. The Prize divided among multiple nominated works. However, if several candidates have contributed equally to a single work, the Prize may be awarded Prize in equal shares.

Who is allowed to make suggestions?
  • all members of the mathematics and science class
  • all departments of scientific institutions at universities
  • all departments of non-university research institutes in the state of Baden-Württemberg
  • Self-nominations are not permitted.

  •  Justification of the proposal, maximum two pages
  • resume
  • list of publications
  • award-worthy work

When will the decision be made?

The Academy will announce its decision at the beginning of the year. The winner and their mentor will be notified of the result in writing.
