Exceptional achievements deserve recognition. That is why the Heidelberg Academy of Sciences and Humanities awards science prizes every year for outstanding scientific achievements in both the natural sciences and the humanities.

Karl Freudenberg Prize
The Freudenberg Group established this award in 1986 to mark the 100th anniversary of Karl Freudenberg's birth.
Walter Witzenmann Award
Witzenmann GmbH established this award in 1997 to promote young scientists.
Ecology Award from the Viktor & Sigrid Dulger Foundation
In 2006, entrepreneur Viktor Dulger established this award for scientific work that contributes to the protection of nature and the environment.
Manfred Fuchs Award
Entrepreneur Dr. Dr. h.c. Manfred Fuchs established this award in 2015 to promote young scientists.
Otto Schmeil Prize
The Schmeil Foundation established this award in 2016 in memory of biologist Otto Schmeil.
Manfred Lautenschläger Prize
Entrepreneur Dr. h.c. Manfred Lautenschläger is donating this prize in 2022 to honor humanities research by young researchers.
Hector Foundation Prize
The Hector Foundation Prize was awarded for the first time in 2023. It aims to encourage young researchers in computer science in their research and to recognize outstanding scientific work.

Karl Jaspers Prize

Der Preis wurde aus Anlass des 100. Geburtstags des Heidelberger Philosophen Karl Jaspers im Jahr 1983 gestiftet. Er wird von der Stadt Heidelberg und der Universität Heidelberg in Kooperation mit der Akademie vergeben.
Reuchlin Prize
